Privacy policy
This policy explains how the Tezula app handles information. Tezula is a pass-and-play party word game made by Padawan (“we” or “us”). It covers the Android app and, when it launches, the iPhone app.
1. The short version
Tezula has no accounts, sign-up or log-in, and we don’t run any servers. Everything the game saves stays on your phone, and we can’t see any of it. The free version shows ads from Google, which may collect some information about your device; buying the full version removes the ads.
2. What’s stored on your device
The app keeps a few things in its own storage on your phone so the game works the way you left it:
- your settings and team set-up (team names, tokens and colours);
- which words have been played, saved as short codes rather than the words themselves;
- words you’ve added or hidden;
- your best scores in Solo mode;
- whether the full version is unlocked.
None of this is sent to us or to anyone else. Uninstalling the app deletes all of it.
The app doesn’t use any analytics or crash-reporting tools, such as Firebase or Google Analytics.
Device permissions
| Permission | Why the app needs it |
|---|---|
| Internet | To show ads and to handle purchases. The game itself plays offline. |
| Keep the screen awake | So the screen doesn’t switch off during a round. |
| Vibration | For haptic feedback during play. |
| Advertising ID (Android) | Added by Google’s ads software, so Google can show and measure ads in the free version. |
3. Ads (Google AdMob) and your choices
The free version shows short ads between rounds. These ads are provided by Google AdMob.
To show and measure ads, limit how often you see the same ad and prevent fraud, Google may collect and process information about your device, such as:
- your device’s advertising ID;
- your IP address;
- your approximate location;
- information about your device and the app;
- how you interact with ads.
Google handles this information under its own policies. You can read how Google uses information from apps that use its services and Google’s Privacy Policy.
Your choices
- Where the law requires it, for example in the European Economic Area (EEA) and the UK, the app shows Google’s consent form before ads are personalised.
- You can reset your advertising ID and change your ad personalisation settings in your phone’s settings.
- Buying the full version removes ads altogether.
4. Purchases
The full version is a one-off in-app purchase. It’s handled by Google Play Billing on Android, and by Apple In-App Purchase when the iPhone version launches.
Your payment details go to Google or Apple, never to us. The app only receives confirmation that you own the full version, so it can unlock it on your device. Google and Apple handle your payment under their own privacy policies.
5. Children and Kids mode
Tezula is a family party game that’s meant to be set up and supervised by an adult. It isn’t directed at children under 13.
Kids mode lets children play in the same game as adults, on a phone an adult controls. Kids mode doesn’t collect anything extra.
6. Your rights
If you’re in South Africa, the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA) gives you rights over your personal information. If you’re in the EEA or the UK, the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) does. These include the right to ask for access to your personal information, and to have it corrected or deleted. Under the GDPR, your consent for personalised ads is asked through Google’s consent form.
Because we don’t hold any personal information about you, most requests are already in your hands:
- uninstalling the app deletes everything it has stored on your phone;
- you can reset your advertising ID and change your ad settings through your phone’s settings and Google’s own controls.
For information Google collects when it shows ads, Google’s Privacy Policy explains how to use your rights with Google. If you have any other question, contact us using the details below.
